Having trouble connecting to Google Contacts or Outlook, or not sure which Chrome profile you're in? Our Installation Guide walks you through every step, including Chrome profiles and account setup.
Reload the page you're on. Then click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin Contact Scout so it's always visible.
Reload the page and try a different tab. Contact Scout can't run on Chrome internal pages (chrome://, chrome-extension://).
Close Contact Scout, wait a moment, and try again. If the issue persists, go to chrome://extensions, toggle Contact Scout off and on, then retry.
You've used all your AI scouts. Please buy a Scout Pack, or switch to Offline Mode in Settings.
Check your internet connection, then close and reopen Contact Scout. VPNs or corporate firewalls can sometimes block Google or Microsoft authentication.
Some sites block image access (CORS). Try selecting the text instead, or take a screenshot, open it in a new Chrome tab, and scout from there.
Contact Scout works in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Opera). It does not support Firefox, Safari, or mobile browsers at this time. Requires Chrome 116 or newer — most browsers update automatically. Check yours at chrome://version.
Open Contact Scout Settings, click Connect on the Outlook card, sign in to your Microsoft account, and approve. Contact Scout will only access your Outlook contacts — never your email, calendar, or files.
Unlike Google Contacts, Microsoft requires us to create a secure token — a digital key that lets us manage your Outlook Contacts only. It cannot access your email, calendar, files, or any other data.
You sign in to Microsoft directly (we never see your user name or password), and Microsoft generates this token for us. It's valid for 90 days. We encrypt this key and lock it away. You can disconnect anytime in Settings.
If your Outlook connection expires after 90 days, just open Settings and click Connect on the Outlook card to reconnect.
